New Mentors for 2023-2024 SY

Seedling

Did you know that you can help Seedling tremendously by simply talking with your friends and family? Each year, we receive hundreds of applications from students hoping to be matched with caring and consistent mentors. While we do dozens of information sessions and networking events to recruit mentors, there are always more people that can be reached and more kids that can be served.

You can help Seedling recruit mentors by telling others about your mentoring experience in one of two ways:

  • Share your story with your networks either in person or through your social media. Talk about your favorite mentoring anecdotes, what you’ve learned in your mentoring journey, what mentoring means to you, or why you’ve chosen to be a Seedling mentor. Ask your friends, family, or extended network if any of their businesses or organizations would be interested in holding a brief info session with Seedling to learn more about mentoring.
  • Write down a few sentences about your favorite mentoring moments or why you love being a Seedling mentor. Send them over to eflores@seedlingmentors.org to be shared in Seedling recruitment presentations and social media.

Remember, we do keep identifying information about our mentees private, but you can talk about your mentee in general terms or using a pseudonym. Have questions or other ideas? Reach out to Erica Flores for more info!
