From the Mentor Directors

Seedling

The new school year is a time of transitions and new beginnings for all of us. For all of our mentors, it will mark a new chapter in your mentoring relationship, for some of you it may be the big jump from elementary to middle school. And some of you may be transitioning to the support of a new Seedling Mentor Director. We are confident that you will be taken care of and supported by our expert staff no matter who your MD is! Our Mentor Directors wanted a chance to say a few words to you as you embark on this new chapter.

“To the mentors I supported last year but are being supported by new Mentor Directors this year, thank you for letting me walk alongside you as you enriched the lives of your mentees through your attention, creativity and invaluable gift of time. I wish you the best of luck as we embark on a new school year and know you will be in wonderful hands with your new Mentor Director.”

– Tess Gillespie

To the mentors I supported in past years who are now are being supported by another Mentor Director, I hope you are able to successfully reconnect with your mentee in the virtual world. It was a pleasure to work with you and I know you are in good hands with your new Mentor Director.”

– Kendra Shaw

“To the mentors at Govalle, Sims, Norman, Ortega and Pickle, it is with regret that I inform you that I will not be your Seedling Mentor Director this school year.  Because of our organization’s continued program growth, it becomes necessary to reorganize our staff.  Please know that a new Seedling Mentor Director will be contacting you (if not already) in the very near future.  It was my pleasure to assist you on your mentoring journey, and I hope your mentoring experiences during the 20-21 school year will be rewarding for both you and your mentee.  Have a great year!”

– Bea Benson

“Sending good wishes to any of you that are moving on to a new Mentor Director this school year.  Thank you for being committed to Seedling and your mentee.  I know that you will be in good hands with your new Mentor Director.  Enjoy the year with your mentee!”

May our paths cross again,

– Lynn Cozart

“To my Andrews, Dobie, Harris, Kealing, Overton, and Walnut Creek mentors from last school year: I will truly miss being your Mentor Director.  I am still a Mentor Director and Trainer for Seedling though, so hopefully when in-person events and meetings occur again, I will see you at some of them.  Thank you for being a dedicated Seedling volunteer! It was a pleasure to get to know you.  Best wishes to you all!”

– Gina Zook

“To the wonderful and awesome mentors I have had the pleasure of supporting prior to and during the 2019-2020 school year,  it has been my pleasure to support you in your evolving relationship with your mentee. You may be receiving support in your match from a new Mentor Director this year. If that is the case please know I will miss chatting with you but rest assured, that you are in great hands. All the best!”

– Amelia Paramo

Dawson Elementary Mentors! It was awesome getting to know you, I am sure you will enjoy working with Lynn this year : )

High School Mentors! I am so excited to share that this year, High School Mentors and Mentees will be getting more Seedling support, which means some of you will have Amelia as your Mentor Director this year.  Take care and all my best!
