An End of Year Cheer for our Mentors!
June 2, 2026
Seedling

It’s not just anyone who answers the call and commits to a child for a year
Still every single one of you all said yes and lent a friendly ear
First through fourth year mentors stand up and let us cheer!

Sometimes the path gets bumpy, still you show up undeterred
Through games collaborative and funny, a special trust is earned
Fifth year mentors, stand and receive the recognition you deserve!

Now you’ve stuck around a bit and you’re in your mentoring stride
You make the most of each visit and your mentee loves being by your side
Sixth through ninth year mentors stand, receive our applause with pride!

You embrace being silly and kind using both to grow and strengthen your mentoring bond
You create a special place to relax and unwind through lunch visits, games, art and beyond
Tenth year mentors, stand up! Of you, we are so very fond!

Mentors open their hearts to a new young friend with remarkable generosity
On you, your mentee knows they can depend and you feed their curiosities
Eleventh through fourteenth year mentors stand, let us cheer you with ferocity!

You follow your mentee’s lead, wherever it may go
You learn about their dreams and share the wisdom that you know
Fifteenth year mentors, stand, your mentoring skills steal the show!

You follow your students to middle school calm and steady as can be
You’ve been taught about what’s cool and grown alongside your mentee
Sixteenth through nineteenth year mentors stand, cuz’ you’re the bee’s knees!

Now your legacy has had two decades to ripple out and spread
you’ve played games with kids of all grades made art and of course, read
Mentors of twenty years and more, stand – you’re the best, it must be said!

Now, I have to say that it’s true this mentoring program could not exist
Without the skilled and dedicated crews the district and campus pros in our midst
To each one of these staff from our schools: stand – accept our praise, we insist!

To all of our volunteer mentors, a heartfelt thank you!
